    Re: WIP 3D Heroine

I'm usign Maya and going for a low to medium res character for games. The actual character's mesh is like 6k so, I could smooth and still be under 25k but, I'll see how that turns out later though. I really don't want to paint weights on a 25k poly character.

Here's how the texture is coming along.

I've seen that in real life literally hundreds of times.

Reminds me of Half Life 1... I know you're going for a comic book style, but even they have facial proportions, just a critique from me.

Here's something else I'm working on. I just put some color on him to show it off. It's nothing final.

and here's the final version of the lizard converted to sub D's.

I should probably change the title of the thread.

Well, here's all the stuff I turned in. I put up some wires just in case Iva wants to comment on them.

Kunoichi, rigged (ready to animate), with a crappy texture.

Hey Naruto. I've been playing around and learning Maya a bit. I used this other simpler program for so long it's weird in this one, but I'm adjusting. Any advice/tips for making the cymetrical appendages? Like I know how to do it with the reflection on the nurb edit the sculpt geometry tool. Is that how you do it or you go copy and reflect the duplicated appendage?

                      Cool stuff by the way.

Everything is a Riemann sum of a lot of nothing.

All I do to make anything symetrical in Maya is create it, position it, press the "Insert" key and move the pivot point to the center of the grid, duplicate on a negative X scale, then combine polygons, and merge the vertices. The mirror geometry tool under "polygons" basically does the same thing too.

It looks to me that you enjoyed making a Lizard and the Monster a whole lot more than your human. That is nice detail.

Well, humans are a bit more complex. I haven't done any of this 3-D model stuff, but I know that it can be difficult, at least from an artistic point of view. Anyway, you did a nice job there, Naruto. Keep up the good work!

Well, yeah. I'm really not into texturing, rigging, or animating. I kind of like her the best though since she has color and I can pose her with her weapons.

I personally know how hard it is to do humans accurately I'm just saying he looks like he enjoys making fictional looking things than real things. As do I.
