    NaNoWriMo 2009 - Day 20 - 34K Words (roughly)

    www.nanowrimo.org

November's just a couple weeks away, and I'm gearing up for another month-long marathon writing session. If anybody else is thinking about it, let us all know here so we can hector and jibe each other about it. =D I'm actually concerned I won't be able to manage it this year, since I have a job and stuff again, but I intend to try all the same.

If you dunno or are just too lazy to clicky the link, the NaNoWriMo is National Novel Writing Month, the month of November, in which thousands of people join together over the interwebs for a frenzied month-long mission: to write a 50,000 word novel before November ends. I had a blast doing this last year, and the few of you who participated as well made it fun even though I was the only one to finish.

So what's up? Anybody been thinking about it?

I'll probably end up not writing a single word like last year but I'm going to give it a shot. I have an idea I think would make for a good novel.

Yep, I'm going in for my third year. Maybe this one will be the one that works.

I'm going to try this again. Will I succeed? I don't have a clue.

Yeah, I'm trying it again. Hopefully I get actually finish (or even get to the halfway point).

                TIME TO WRITE AWWWWW YEEEEEAH

And this time there's no WoW expansion to distract me from finishing.

I was trying to decide whether I wanted to take the month and the 50,000 words and try to finish one of my several unfinished stories, but I came to the conclusion that it wouldn't quite be in the spirit of the WriMo to do that. So I'm going with an idea I've been knocking around in my head but haven't yet committed to paper in any fashion yet.

I also changed my schedule at work so I have an extra full day of writing each week to play catchup from whatever slacking I do during the week.

                  I'm exciiiiiiited. =D

Good for NaNoWriMo: thanksgiving break will have me home with a laptop and nothing to do.

Bad for NaNoWriMo: Borderlands and L4D2.

Yeah, Demon's Souls is gonna be a tantalizingly evil distraction if I let it.

Haven't started mine yet, woke up with a killer migraine and it's just now fading. We'll see how far I get before work tonight.

So my whole "have Sunday nights off" thing fell through. I'll just have to do it the normal way.

Only at about 3K words so far, trying to play catchup from when I was sick on the first and half of the second. If I write 2,200 words before the day ends I'll at least be caught up. Hopefully.

Also, I decided to go with the sequel to Something More, because if I didn't start writing down the things in my head for it, I'd forget them and then never be able to write a proper sequel. So here goes nothing!

7,610 words. Finally found a great stride in the day's writing, and caught up/surpassed the place I needed to be at Day 4. Things are really heating up in the world of the NaNo, and I wish someone else would post in this topic so I don't feel all alone.

I would say more, but I have nothing really to add. I've been so busy with catching up on my school work from being sick and practicing music that I've already gotten behind. I've got about 5.5k words of utter junk, which I'm hoping will start to form a real plot pretty soon.

My region is hosting a 28 hour write-a-thon on the 14th-15th, so I'm hoping that'll get me ahead and add a safety net, if I even keep with it until then (which I hope I will, but life is kind of getting in the way of everything right now).
