Anyway, it's obviously a chemical imbalance in your brain. Over the course of the last three decades much research into the origins of emotional distress and disturbances have led researchers to embrace “chemical imbalance” as the leading cause. Though the exact mechanisms linking chemical imbalances and common disorders like anxiety, depression and ADHD are not completely understood, clinical studies and medical observations have been able to identify a number of chemical inconsistencies that occur in individuals who report experiencing symptoms related to these disorders.
If you would ask a medical professional the reasons and causes for anxiety or depression, their answer would most likely be “A chemical imbalance…” As a result, the first impulse for most medical professionals and patients alike is to prescribe an SSRI, MAOI or similar “chemical balancer” to treat the condition.
The prescription drug method of managing chemical imbalance has been embraced by the medical community as the only real treatment option. Prescription drugs, however, have failed to be the silver bullet that the drug manufacturers have claimed them to be. Synthetic drugs have been reported to work about 50% to 60% of the time, however, individuals have reported side effects that may have both, physical and mental repercussions which may create more problems than they are helping to treat. Additionally, prescription drugs only target the chemical imbalance, and not the underlying cognitive and behavioral roots of the problem.
Learning about the specific thought patterns that trigger our stress, anxiety or depression is one of the most important steps for starting to cope with chemical imbalance. Once we identify the negative interpretations and thoughts we have in these situations, we can begin to develop and apply positive thinking patterns and behaviors that can help us to manage chemical fluctuations.

If it's only temporary, then you're good. Try to find a TV show, game, book, etc. to help you through it, preferably something funny.
Personally, watching MXC really has helped me whenever I was feeling down(Seriously). Reading George Carlin also helps. But that's just me.
