I plan to go this holiday season. I was wondering if anyone went there, what they experienced, and how much the expenses were. I did a few quick looks at travel packages(2 adults, 5 day stay, roundtrip air+hotel+rental and at least 1 event planned) and I got an average of $1400 in expenses. How's that?

Re: Anybody go to Las Vegas before?
I live in Vegas, but I can't really tell you average prices.
I can tell you that the Rio has the best buffet in town, though it's pretty expensive. Seriously starve yourself before you go there, otherwise you won't get to 1/3rd of the **** they have.
I'd also scope out online the different kinds of clubs and attractions all the casinos have, this place could be pretty intimidating without preperation. I dunno what you're into so I'll just suggest the popluar things:
One of the Cirque shows like Mystere or O is good, or Zumanity if you're bringing along a girl.
Penn & Teller of course. Tournament of Kings is cool. Even if you're looking for some kind of kinky thrill take it from me and avoid The Green Door at all costs.
Also, and this may seem like a hug duh, but make sure to bring plenty of cash, wandering the strip is boring as **** without a decent chunk of money to throw around.Last edited by Garr123; 09-28-2006, 07:33 AM."At first it just looked like a picture of a bunch of lily pads, but then I started scraping at it with my pocket knife and the whole painting just sort of spoke to me," Schmidt said. Re: Anybody go to Las Vegas before?
I went there once for a weekend. Loved it! Make sure you see a Cirque de Solei show, my favorite was "O." Mystere was still really good as well. They have scantily clad good looking women all over the place, so if you're into that, then you'll have more than enough to gawk at (Cirque de Solei was better eye candy for me, hehe). Be sure to hit the different casinos just to see what they look like, it's pretty damn cool. I've always heard the Balagio buffet was best, but it's pretty much a rule of thumb that all of them are pretty damn good.
Oh, and you will know who Danny Gans is by the time you leave.

I hate booze, girlz, and gambling...
I'm with ya on booze though.
That french circus act? I guess seeing them would be pretty cool, jumping around and stuff.Originally posted by Kire View PostI went there once for a weekend. Loved it! Dead hooker.
And I actually suggest getting a book on Blackjack. I've been playing at a local Indian Casino and the tips really helped me play better. There's nothing like losing all your money to ruin a vacation, so try to put the odds a little more in your favor.
And if you've got the time, play in a poker tournament. Even if you get out real fast, its a blast to be a part of.Do what you wish

Re: Anybody go to Las Vegas before?
Online blackjack will fool you, most real casinos use either six or eight decks at once, which greatly changes how you play. Online is usually just an algorhytm (SP) to allocate which of the 52 cards in a deck show up.Originally posted by Crimson Knight View PostAnd I love blackjack!
