Re: Funk does that thing that everyone hates: MAKES LISTS (Now: Top 50 video games)
Funk, Xenogears should be in the top 5!
oh wait...that would be my list...
I should make a list topic too, just as a copycat...although i could only come up with movies and video games, not music, since i dont listen to alot of it.
Re: Funk does that thing that everyone hates: MAKES LISTS (Now: Top 50 video games)
Top Ten Favorite Albums:
1) 'Lightbulb Sun' by Porcupine Tree
2) 'Still Life' by Opeth
3) 'Red' by King Crimson
4) 'The Human Equation' by Ayreon
5) 'In Absentia' by Porcupine Tree
6) 'Funeral' by The Arcade Fire
7) 'Ghost Reveries' by Opeth
8) '2112' by Rush
9) 'Death of a Dead Day' by SikTh
10) 'Crowned in Terror' by The Crown
I should make a top 50 song list, but so many choices!
Edit: I just noticed a lot my favorites are newer albums. Whatever, the list fluctuates constantly.
Re: Funk does that thing that everyone hates: MAKES LISTS (Now: Top 50 movies)
32) Secret of Mana (SNES)
25) Final Fantasy VI (SNES)
24) Mega Man 2 (NES)
15) Final Fantasy Tactics (PS1)
These are my top four favorite games of all time, in order. I'll post some of my favorite games later (I can't put a number on them, so hard to rank stuff). Secret of Mana, number 32 though!? Come on Funk!
Secret of Mana is not just a great game, it's a HUGE mark on gaming history. It was going to be the first game released on the SNES CD attachment. Nintendo backed out of the CD deal and Squaresoft had to cut back 40% of SoM to fit it on a cartridge, as well as tone down on screen events (no more than 3 at a time). Because of the pull back, and Sony picking up the CD, Squaresoft opted to make Final Fantasy 7 for Playstation. Secret of Mana is THE reason Square left Nintendo. Or at least, the straw that broke the camels back (not sure if other factors were involved, just that SoM was a BIG mark).
You don't have to lie to us about it anymore Funk... put your list the way you want it. Drop Excitebike, move all the games down one number, and just above Chrono Trigger at #2, list your #1 game as what it always has been since you first played it... Final Fantasy VIII.

I don't see what that has to do with Secret of Mana's overall quality as a game. But it is an AWESOME game, it just doesn't rank higher than some other games in my book. #32 out of over probably 10,000 games is pretty damned good.

That is the funniest damned thing I have ever seen posted at the Pavilion in all of the my time being here. You will be receiving MUCH positive rep because of this, Smurvis, believe you me.
And with that, another list:
