    This week's movie update:

I saw Idlewild last night...I guess for a two hour music video it was allright, if they shaved off the last five-seven minutes the movie would've certainly have completed the theatrical feel it was going for but it instead opted for the happy ending. It also had absolutly no plot.

In other news; I saw The Plague Dogs today too, another animated movie in the vein of Watership Down (based off of a book by the same guy I believe). My god what a SAD, SAD, SAAAADDDDDDD movie! It didn't even let up for like a second it just got sadder and sadder until the unbelivably sad finale...

...this should be in free form. Someone move plz.

YEA! Somebody else that's actually seen the Plague Dogs! It's brutally depressing, but so beautiful. The book tacks on a reallllllllly cheesy happy ending, so I actually like the movie better.

The traditional animation in that film is incredible. I got chills when Rowf is howling at the moon and they do that beautiful 360 camera pan shot. I'm still mad that I can't find the original uncut version of it, but maybe someday.

I think it's on a UK (PAL) DVD, but other than that it's only on VHS and it's long out of print. I have it on VHS, but I also purchased what I thought was a legit US version on DVD. It turned out to be a bootleg, which really ****** me off. I still have it, and although it claims to be "uncut," it's missing the same footage as the VHS version.

I guess some indie movie shops might have a copy for rent, but who knows? Where did you get your copy, Dreamknight?

He got it through Neflix I assume, it's in my queue to watch also. So I guess somewhere along the line it did come out on DVD.

Cool! I can finally get a legit copy on DVD. I wonder if it has the extra footage?

Yeah, I netflixed it...I don't think I wanna see the uncut version

It was a very very pretty movie, though and did I mention it was really sad?
Some of the stuff didn't sit well with me, though. A lot of scenes felt like they just cut to something else without giving much time for anything to settle, as such I didn't really understand why the fox was helping them in the end.

I'm still all sad from it and my girlfriend made me promise not to make her watch sad movies anymore (Guess I gotta wait a while before we can see Grave of the Fireflies).

                  And no love for Outkast?
