Re: When I opened my window...

Boo Hoo, it was 96 degrees, I've been living with temperatures like that for the last 18 years of my life.

That and I spent a summer in a ville on the outskirts of the rain forrest in Tampico, Mexico where the temperatures were around 115.

In all history, Germany never had any tornados.
Between now and two months ago, we had three of them.
Geez...Minnesota is 100% prepared for a blizzard in July, and they give us a heat wave. Texas is supposed to get heat waves, and we get cold snaps!
Oklahoma had its first ever earthquake last year. At least, first ever recorded.
It seems like rare weather occurances are cropping up everywhere. Religious folks might want to pray to be saved right about... now.

I'm with Jvr, you guys need to get used to it. Spend a few summers in Tex-ass, where we have 100 degree + temps and 70-90% humidity. Then you'll know what hell feels like.

Well sure our summers may be hell, but think of the winters! Minnesota was used to temperatures between 10 and -30 from December through March. So maybe now we'll get lucky, and it'll raise to... 15 degrees?

Wouldn't you be used to it, though?

You never get "used" to it. You just learn to endure it.

We're just talking about how lame it is that there's all this bitching going around over something we live with most of the time.

Just think how stupid it would be if I started bitching about how "OMG" cold Texas' 30 degree winters are, then you should get my point.

Considering these are rather extreme temperatures for this area, we have every right to complain. We're not used to this crap.

kind of like if I was shot in the arm, I'd still have every right to complain about it despite others being shot in the face.

I live a little south of SF on the Peninsula, it really isn't that constant. Sometimes it'll get up near 75, sometimes in the mornings it's like 50! Brrr.

The inland areas have been scorched though, regular days of 100+ and some areas topping 110. Also, heavy winds propelling brush fires and such. Jeroak lives about 45 minutes northeast (by train) and he's probably averaging between 20-30 degrees hotter. I still haven't gotten used to travelling in and out of weather systems so quickly.

                        What else can you do?

Tex-ass shmex-ass, try living with a breathing and vision problem, then summer doesn't seem like ****.

Valk's right though, not everyone's used to it. And the bullet example "hit the mark" so to speak. Although I'm only complaining because it's really messed up, it doesn't bother me at all.

It's been raining for 4 months up here. I have a pool so I would LIKE some heat.

Bah, at least in Texas, you won't hear the banjo music playing in the background. Now that is real hell!

But yeah, it is even hotter today. And yet I still see people on the many golf courses around my area. Are old people wanting to die from heat stroke?

I saw a news report today, about how all kinds of people are out working, jogging and all that jazz, and THEY'RE NOT DRINKING WATER!? WTF is wrong with these people?
