I don't see any point in "animal justice" and killing the dog. That's ****ing stupid.

But think of what would happen if your cat killed your neighbor's mouse. THE POOR KID'S ONLY FRIEND. He sued you and had your cat put to sleep.

We're all animals and there shouldn't be any special privelages or situations.

Thank you, Smurtle. Even though that really sucks, if my dog got hit by a car I wouldn't hold anything against the guy that hit it.

And I can't hate the hawks for eating our ducks and chickens either, it's just the way life works. Sorry about the loss, though.

First Jeremy, i'm sorry for your loss, it hurts when losing a pet, no matter what anyone else says.

Normally, i'd agree with you guys about it being a dogs nature or whatever, but if that dog has an owner and isnt a stray, and they let that dog run free, then i would prosecute them to the full extent of the law.

Rommie hates cats, she hates them, but she is always on a leash, she never goes outside if she is not on a leash. But i hate when people let their dogs run wild and dont care, or let their dogs be vicious without trying to curb it.

A couple of months ago a nearby person with a pit bull let it get off its leash, and it came barreling towards her, thankfully it didnt attack, just tried to indimidate her. If it had even bared a tooth, it would have been hurled into the street in front of oncoming traffic.

I like dogs. I like cats. Both should be kept indoors unless they're being supervised by their owner.

Jeremy, I know how you feel. A while back, our family cat was killed by a vicious dog. I for one love dogs, but that one I wouldn't mind taking a shot at... with a shotgun. So sorry about your loss, it is never easy on anyone to lose a loved one.

I love dogs. It's cats I cant stand. But yeah one of my dogs did that to my cat once. My dog was insane so the cat desided to go right into his pen...

This is why we have a small dog. But even large dogs shouldn't go after cats if properly trained. Most of the large dogs owned by people I know are gentle around cats. In fact, I know of dogs that let cats sleep with them.

Smurtle, I don't think you understand. Even if the Dog "killed my neighbors mouse" that doesn't change the fact that the owner let the dog run free and unsupervised. It's not just because the damn thing killed my cat, it's also because the owner is a moron and let the dog out to roam the neighborhood all day. That's called irresponsibility, and those whom own a dog need to be responsible for their pet. Would you say the same thing if the dog bit a human child? They belong outside, right?

I find it hard to have sympathy for dog owners that are sued for their irresponsibility. It's not about what they do, moreso than it is about the dog being allowed to roam free, or the owner didn't notice altogether. Sue away, I say.

Edit: Just so you guys know, I was mad when I wrote the topic title. I don't dislike all dogs. There are good dogs and there are dogs that are uncared for by their owners. No such thing as bad dogs necisarily, but instead dogs that aren't taught properly. We have a dog too. Our dog lives in the house in perfect harmony with our cats, she loves the cats, and the cats love her. We have several cats, and it's not unusual for our dog to sleep with a pile of cats around her. Every time one of our cats gets dirty, our dog (a Pitbul, Paige) washes them up for us. They play tag too, it's really funny.

Dude, all I'm saying is that dogs are animals. We as an animal ourselves can't 'domesticate' another species, train it to do our bidding, then get all pissed off when it goes back to being a dog.

We're no better than they are.
