As a Hippy of The Old School I am compelled to make a plea for not cutting long hair no matter how thinning it is!!

I'm cutting my hippy hair, but it's for a good cause.

I've been growing it out so I can donate it. There is an national organization (not locks of love) that makes free wigs for children with medical conditions who have lost their hair. Sometimes I like to do nice things to make up for the fact that I have nothing to contribute to society.

i used to have long hair. it became cumbersome to wash it & brush it almost everyday when all i did was pull it back in a pony tail. so, i cut it and now i look beautiful. like a cute newborn babe getting compliments 'round the clock. oh yes.

my hair almost comes down to my elbows. but on the top of my head, nearly nothing is there. I dont have a truly bald spot yet, but its enough to make me really depressed whenever I look in a mirror.

so I figured, either I can have the gnarliest comb-over in history, or look retarded with no hair on the top of my head but plenty everywhere else on it, or I can shave it and not have to worry about it. I've tried all the chemical solutions out there, one of which accelerated the loss by about 20 percent (rogaine). I'd try one of those hair restoration prcedures advertised on TV by bosley and crap, but I bet it's incredibly expensive.

so yeah. after 8 years of having really long hair, I'm pretty sure I'm just gonna shave it off.

You might try that silica water... I think it's called trinity? I used it when I was working at the pet store. My nails were taking a lot of abuse because I had to wash my hands all the time. It's supposed to help your hair, too.

I'm going to cut my hair soon too. Mines not extremely long, but I have a job interview next week, and I want to look respectable like. But I probably won't shave my beard.
