Anyone else of a bad sense of direction?

I swear, I get lost going to places I have been to already.

I used up nearly the entire day today trying to find a place. And about 4 times, I was close to it.

I always find myself taking the wrong road, or confused by road signs...

Maps only help so much with me.

    Anyone else have this problem?

I have a huge problem with this. We go play poker and drink every Wednesday night over at some Billard's and Bar place.

I got lost going there Wednesday, and I've seriously been there about 10 times in my life, and Lincoln is not a large place by any means.

    It's damn pathetic.

Oh really? I'm so very, very sorry.

There's nothing to do here, unless you want to go to one of our 300 Theatres.

I have a decent sense of direction, but it's all based on visual reference. I don't remember street names or real directions.

An example? One of my friends in college had to drive me to the ER once, after I'd been sick for days. I could barely keep my head up to see where we were going, but I managed to remember the exact route we took. After being drugged and probed for 6 hours, I walked back home by myself and didn't get lost. It was about 4-5 miles back to my dorm, and it was 3am when I left the ER.

I have a good internal compass, provided I start from somewhere I know well and don't take those stupid half turns that have me going at an angle.

Whenever I arrive to someplace late, I usually quote from Daniel Boone...

Just because you live in NC, doesn't mean that you have to quote Daniel Boone.
And tamoki, sweety, that makes no sense.

I developed a good sense of direction due to geocaching.

Lucky you. I try to geocache but have no GPS. Have to use Google Earth.

Once a friend from out of town was driving me home from the mall. Being as he was unfamiliar with the area I navigated. Not only did I have him passing where I live but crossing a river into the next town. Eventually we got to downtown Charleston where I knew where I was again and I resumed navigating. At which point I promptly instructed him to turn the wrong way down a one way street. He gave up on me and started driving semi randomly and found my house quicker in less than 1/3 the time I'd been trying to get us there.
