    Re: BloodRayne

Apparently there's some strange tax loophole that lets studios profit from complete ****fests.

Precisely. I wouldn't be surprised if the name Uwe Boll translated to "#^$@! Everybody run!"

I really, sincerely hope he doesn't get MGS either.

So yes, I won't be seeing Bloodrayne.

There is hope on the horizon.

It has been reported, however, that this loophole has been revised. Starting on January 2006, contributors to failed movies will no longer be able to profit from failed films through a tax writeoff at the end of the year. This could deliver a major blow to Boll's production company, potentially making it difficult to capitalize on the commercial failure of the projects he has become associated with. This in turn would make it more difficult to lure the investors that have helped Boll continue his projects in the past.

I would think Mr. Kojima has enough love for himself and his work to choose someone he deals worthy of directing, if indeed he ever considers to pan out into the theaters, which he probably won't.
If anything, he'd direct it himself.

                Oshii should take the reins.

he already is making several other bad movies

                  # Fear Effect (2008) (announced)
                  # Postal (2007) (announced)
                  # Far Cry (2006) (announced)
                  # Hunter: The Reckoning (2007) (pre-production)
                  # In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale (2006) (post-production)

I don't think any of these games would make a good movie.

                    Re: BloodRayne

I think Kojima has said that he would only do a MGS movie if he directed but its not really up to him. Konami could offer up the movie rights without so much as speaking to him just like they were able to make Metal Gear 2: Snake's Revenge with no input from him. The creators of entertainment (movies, games, etc.) almost never have real power, it all stands with the studio who's paying for everything. Money talks, genius and creativity walks.

They should make a movie about how No One Can Stop Mr. Domino.

Ah, the truth hurts. Even the remote possiblility of that happening scares the bejeezes out of me.

                          Re: BloodRayne

The chances of Boll getting MGS are almost non existent now though, see the post I made about the change in that German tax law. It's effective as of Jan 1 and any movies not purchased before then won't be benefiting from the previous tax writeoff for flops so nobody with even half a brain will give Boll money to make movies any more.

Didnt he recently get promoted to a top position in the company? if so, that'd make it really hard for anyone to do anything with metal gear that he didnt approve of.

I'm pretty sure Roger Avary, the Silent Hill screenwriter, hinted he's interested in MGS.
