    Headaches...

Recently, I've been getting these when I wake up. Last week I woke up with one but was ok. A few days later I woke up with one and had to take Tylenol. A few days later I woke up with one and felt sick to my stomach, and had to take more tylenol. And now, a few days later after THAT, I wake up again this morning feeling sick with a headache taking tylenol.

The headache feels like it is directly behind right side of my forehead, and hurts like a mutha. Has anyone ever heard of this before?
    Keep the change.

Mayhaps you've begun sleeping on it the wrong way.

Maybe it's morning sickness and you're pregnant.

It might be your sinuses, have any allergies? At this time of year a sensitivity to mold or leaving a window open at night might expose you to something you're not accustomed to.

I like all of those answers, so I'll just combine them.

I think poor eating, sleeping on it wrong, and bad mold has caused me to contract Avian morning cancer problems with my sinuses.

                    Re: Headaches...

Here's the last thing you want to hear.

                    When I was 17 I got a headache.

It lasted way too long. After a couple days I began to worry.

                    After a week I saw a doctor.

He tried tests and medications, but nothing worked.

After a month I checked into a hospital (the one that housed The Germantown Headache Clinic).

They found out that I had arthritis in my neck, at the ball and socket joint that holds your head on (c1-c2 cervical vertabreae).

I am an idiot and could not even get arthritis right.

Instead of degenerative bone disease (traditional arthritis) I have regenerative bone disease (my neck is fusing).

I am in my forties now and have had a headache for about 25 years.

I hope the fact that yours is not perpetual means you are not in a similar situation.

As for medicine, I'm allergic to aspirin and have bad reactions to most anti-inflammatories. Tylenol does nothing (I was part of the clinical trial for Ibuprofen and was one of the few who got no help from it). The only thing that helped was an antidepressant called Ellavil. It has been known to work with chronic pain, but has side effects.

As for what may be causing your problem... I dunno. Maybe anything from stress to sinus trouble to demonic possession.

                    Get well.

                    Peace.

                    MOO!

                      Re: Headaches...

Lots of alcohol + large dosage of Benedryl = headache gone

At least that's what does it for me. I get migranes all the damn time.

Yours could be the result of many things, the most common being you aren't drinking enough water.

Try chewing gum. It really helps headaches by getting rid of some of the tension.

                          Re: Headaches...

By water, do you mean just literal H20, like tap or bottled? Or would that include things such as tea and/or soft drinks?

I had a sinus infection a few weeks back, but that's been long gone. No sniffing, no coughing, no ear infection anymore. I took a week's worth of Amoxicillin and Maxifed-G to get rid of it. The headaches started a few days after my prescription ended, but all my sinus symptoms had been gone a few days BEFORE my prescription ended, so I'm sure the remainder of the drugs took care of it.

My diet has been a wishy washy thing for the past 10 months anyway. It wouldn't just start causing headaches now. I doubt I'm sleeping on it wrong...

The headaches bother me mainly because I'm never had them to that magnitude before. Usually it's just a little sore, take a tylenol, good to go. That happens at random times, never more than once a year. But these hurt to the point it woke me up, and I felt sick to my stomach. I went in the kitchen and damn near broke the tylenol bottle open cause I have problems with the child safety cap when I'm hurting and half-asleep, and I just wanted it open. That's happened three times now. The first headache I got wasn't so bad, and I went back to sleep. But the second/third/fourth hurt like a mother.

Now that I've seen a calender, I can see I've had all four in less than a week. My first was Wednesday, second was Thursday, third was Saturday, and fourth was this morning, also a Wednesday. Saturday and today I felt sick to my stomach. Other times my head just hurt. Tylenol took about 10 minutes or so to activate, and when it did, the pain went away very slowly, over the course of the next 5 minutes or so.

That's about as detailed as I can get.

I mean literal H2O. You may be dehydrated, in which case you'll want to avoid coffee, tea, soda, or anything else with caffeine in it.

I've never had plain H20. I've lived off nothing but tea and Dr. Pepper for as long as I can remember. Those are the only two things I drink.

I had some orange juice when I had a cold a few weeks ago. That's the only break in the trend in months.
