I saw real narutards for the first time.

I was in the mall the other day a group of 14-19 year old kids walked by me and half of them where wearing those ninja headband things that all the people wear in the show, with the metal plate on them. hey had them on their shoulder and necks. It had that leaf village symbol.

I really wanted to run up to them and go "OMFG KAGE BUNSHIN NO JITSU!!", and run away making a loud screaching noise, but Im not that insane.

Yeah, seeing these creatures makes me get out of a show if there is any similar tastes between me and them.

So... you're saying that you stop watching a show when it becomes a fanboy thing? Growing to dislike a show you enjoyed simply because it becomes a fad is just as bad as starting to like a show when it becomes trendy even though you disliked it originally.

I've never seen a single bit of it, so I have no opinion other than that those headbands look ridiculous.

I am related to cosplayers and fan fic geeks, they sometimes just make me sick of some shows. I liked Inuyasha for a while, but now when ever I watch it I get some ugly images in my head of some cosplayers I know *shrugs*.

I read the Naruto manga. It's very good. But if I saw some kids wearing those headbands I'd just have to laugh.

I was like that with Pokemon. I saw the ads for Red and Blue in EGM, back when it was just a japanese game. It looked really fun. I got it the day it came out and played in my my Super Game Boy and had a blast. Then... the shows, and the cards, and the movies, and the bajillion sequels.

Dropping it cause it's a fad is not so much a "Oh everyone likes it, it's a fad, screw it" thing. It's cause you see it everywhere, and people are obsessed with it, and Pokemon Pokemon Pokemon ARRRRRGGGGHH! It loses it's flavor after it becomes a fad, and has been one for a while.

Ditto. And it's incredibly discouraging when every person you know pressures you to watch it. Yet none of them saw Stand Alone Complex.

So NUTS TO THEM, I say.

Though I have read a sample of the Naruto manga and it isn't 40+ volumes I MIGHT check into THAT maybe...
