I've always been a big DB/Z/GT fan. But yeah you just don't put that much thought into the inconsistencies. There's hardly a serial story ever made that doesn't have holes and contradicitons. Especially one that's a translation of an adaptation of a manga series that was revamped and renewed time and again over the course of years. It's a wonder Toriyama managed to remember half the characters' names. In order to enjoy Dragonball you have to just sit back, laugh at the funny parts (intentional or not), fast forward through whichever parts you don't like, and just bask in the homoeroticism of it all (that's mostly in Z). Same goes for all forms of entertainment.

There are so many inconsistancies and differences between DB and DBZ it's almost better to think of them as seperate stories. DB is more like a myth or legend while DBZ is more like science fiction.

Yeah it wasn't the real moon. Atleast not in dragon ball Z. I thought that Master Roshi just beat up the monkey that Goku turned into anyway. I guess I could be wrong. I guess it is pretty impossible to defeat the monkey though so maybe he did. Or maybe they cut off his tail again. I don't remember.

And Tenkaichi is going to rock. HAve you heard what they have said. They say the rest were just practice. I like that phrase. You can finally fly freely and I think there is a way to teleport in any given direction (but I am not sure about this one). I did see Goku teleport backwards so that is my thinking. And you can blow up the trees too. I don't know how they did it but it seems like they would need more buttons. I can't wait though. I will probably rent it like I did budokai 3 then buy it.

Yeah, during the first tournament in Dragonball, Goku transformed into the giant monky thing, and Master Roshi destroyed the moon to turn him back. Then in Dragonball Z, Piccolo took Gohan away to train him, and Gohan transformed into the monkey thing one night (after howling at the moon). Of course, Piccolo shot the moon, it blew up, and Piccolo took an extra precaution and removed Gohan's tail. And yet, it grew back, and in the same episode Gohan transformed once more. Piccolo tried shooting the moon that time, but his ray went through it without doing a thing. Piccolo then found the ship (I thought it was Goku's) projecting the holographic moon, and then destroyed the ship.

I just realized another inconsistancy. Goku's tail didn't grow back after the last time it was pulled off in DB. Yet before that it was almost like a running gag.

Just FYI- Toriyama said he planned to end DBZ at the end of the Freeza saga.

Didn't know that. All I heard was that Goku was supposed to stay dead.

DB and DBZ are both connected. I believe someone wished the moon back. though I'm not sure.

OR it's like all the crap Goku has to gain his supersaiyan form then like everybody else gains it like it's a birth right...not that I really wanted 100 episodes on how every character turns into a super anyways though.

Yeah, that bugged me too. They said that there was just 1 Supers Saiyan every thousand years. I understood the reasoning when vegeta got it: A mix of jealousy, rage, ad determination. But GOTEN?!

When did the power of a Super Saiyan become a child's play thing?

And I must've missed the part of 1 SS in 1000 years. I thought they simply said the last time there was one was 1000 years ago. But yeah, they could've thought of a better way to defeat upcoming enemies besides

"Let's all gain even MORE power! OMG, I've become a Super Saiyan 201653!!!!!"

At least Piccolo and Krillin couldn't keep up. It would've been stupid otherwise. But still, you can't help but think "WTF" when those guys become so much more powerful than the Supreme Ruler of the Universe, and yet said ruler doesn't even take notice.

Well yeah, but you just know if, given the chance, the DBZ creators would've found a way to superfy them. Heck, they found a way to power up Piccolo twice. Didn't they even call him a Super Namek?

Well I never really watched the Dragon Ball anime, since there isnt even an unetided version of it, I read the manga, and my god is it funny. Filled with lots of adult humor.

I just watched the unedited version of Dragon Ball a year ago. Look for it, it's awesome.
