Hey, I remeber that last one. Can't recall what it's from though. I remember I used to have the Manimals graphic novel thing where they have to fight the bugs. It was neat. And I think I had some kind of encyclopedia thing that had all the characters and such. Man I wish I still had that.
The Cyclops having only one eye, needed to seek shelter from the harsh sun. The shadow cast by the spheres gave him temporary respite.
I think Magus found a reprint or something of one of the original Mirage comics, which I've always wanted to see. I don't remember which one it was, but I know Krang was in it... A few Krangs.
And I bet I have the Intergalatic Wrestling Federation issue in a box somewhere. I recognize that exact page.
Real strange.... I remember the cowlick thing, but I don't ever recall reading any TMNT comics. Did the cowlick thing appear in other comics?
"What if like...there was an exact copy of you somewhere, except they're the opposite gender, like you guys could literally have a freaky friday moment and nothing would change. Imagine the best friendship that could be found there."
sometime this year, the archie TMNT comic series will finally be wrapped up when a trade paperback of "the forever war" is released. its the entire final story arc that was cut from the original run and replaced with a few comics about the turtles as kids. I keep waiting for it, but there's like, ZERO news about it other than "yeah, it's coming this year".
Wow! I even remember the ads for "The Forever War," and I own the very last TMNT Archie comic ("How the turtles got their weapons" or something).
I was a very tortured little kid--I could only find the TMNT Archie comics at airports and local stores during vacations with my grandparents. I'd often have parts 1 and 3, or 2 and 3, or 1 and 2 of the 3-part series, doomed never to find the critical missing issue. I couldn't order back issues because half of them were always sold out and my parents didn't allow me to mail-order. When my family moved to AZ in 1994, the local mall comic book store carried them for awhile. Then they suddenly disappeared. When I asked the clerk about it she said that they no longer carried "kid's stuff." But then I saw the first issue of the Power Rangers comic proudly displayed on their racks, and frowned.
By the time I had the money and awareness to send for a subscription, I got a letter and a refund back telling me that they were cancelling the series and there would not be enough future issues to satisfy the subscription. I mailed in the subscription in anticipation of "The Forever War," and was horrified and wondered whatever had become of it.
Maybe 3 or 4 times in the past couple years, I've had dreams where I found elusive issues of TMNT comics. So the story on the "The Forever War" resolves one ancient mystery.
