Re: What can we do for you?

I'd consider it. Also, I recommend it be held in Mora, Minnesota.

LA would be convient, considering I have family that lives 45 minutes away from there.

Taking into consideration the large number of people from around Michigan, Canada, New York area, you would think central United States would be best with a focus of northeastern central, pinpointing somewhere in or around Chicago.

But then you have to consider the bums that live in Texas (IRC, gray, Nix and Dave, and probably a few others) and myself in Oklahoma, Chicago is a good 12-hour drive from where I live, and more than that for anyone in Texas.

Of course, the Canadians are quite widespread, I believe, as Canada is so vast, so that doesn't help matters.

Southern Illinois would make a great medium range for everyone in the southern central states, as well as the northern central to eastern states, and Canada for the most part.

The people that would get screwed the most are your western states, and Canadians that are north of the western states. Also, anyone in states East of New York or South of say... Tennessee.

I'd definitely be interested in attending, but my place in the Pavilion ranks has little to do with RPG Maker.

I second, having it in the Chicago area. While not really fair to all the people in California, New York, Texas, and Florida it's still a central location for the US and Canada. There are a bunch of people in all four states that I mentioned so you're going to have a bunch of people from New York pushing for something in their area but that really is unfair to the other three. And vice versa versa versa.

However, there are enough of those people in each area that they shouldn't have a problem car pooling. I for one would be perfectly willing to rent a big van or I even know a guy with a bus I could rent for cheap, and pick everone up on the way.

Or just do it in Mora, Minnesota.

Its not as bad as having it in NY than its really damn far for CALI, or vice versa.

Hmm... maybe they could carpool, or maybe someone could rent a big van and pick everyone up on the way.

If it was in Michigan I would totally go. Also, that's where Valk and Jla live so it's double bonus.

God, I neveer thought I'd actually attend a convention. I'd love to see some of the oldies though. Especially Blitz, BZ, Blaze...

It's gonna be a total geek fest.

I'd like to see pavilion members sort of form a caravan and meet at certain houses of some pavilions, in which to join up and continue down the road to the central meeting point. That would be kind of cool.

See, it all sounds good on paper, until you guys are cramped together in the same car and don't know what to say to each other.

"So...what ride are you going to ride first? Oh shoot, this isn't a Six Flags trip! Um, what GAME are you going to play first?"

And I'm living in Southern Illinois, so I might be able to participate.
"What if like...there was an exact copy of you somewhere, except they're the opposite gender, like you guys could literally have a freaky friday moment and nothing would change. Imagine the best friendship that could be found there."

Yeah, a bunch of guys cramped togethor in a van would be damn strange, But this could be really neat, we could have a giant screen and a load of chairs and each of us could demo our "special" talents, or possibly even have an award ceremony where we can be honored by our peers and such, this could have potential to be really great, and maybe it could be the start of a convention that happens yearly, im interested to see this idea unfold.

Re: What can we do for you?

it all depends how it goes, and how much it costs. My guess is that we'd finance it with on-site ads, and having a (low) attendance fee. I know for sure that we're gonna have at least one of these, but if it continues after that depends entirely on the turnout, and how much of the cost we dont end up earning a return on.

Aside from a big get-together, depending on whats going on at the time it may be possible to ask agetec to come and have hands-on previews of the next RPG Maker software (kind of like this year's RPG Maker 3 E3 demo), and of course I'd also bring copies of the various RPG Makers we never got here (like RPG Tsukuru 4) for people to check out.

and Snarf, why would it make you jealous? you could come, even if you don't use RPG Maker. you may not know this, but only about 1/2 the Free Forum population uses RPG Maker. the rest are just... here.
