We can be rich in cotton and mining metals and silkworms and we can makes things, we can make things cars, the machine can make it for us...on the East Coast they have slaves and they believe in slavery and made in China, but on the West Coast, the new West Coast, we don't believe in that. We believe in the union and that's what we are.
    Ummm...

The union is (one of the reasons) why California has no money. And besides, how can we in the Rust Belt have slavery when there are no jobs? "We don't belive in made in China" on the West Coast? What the frackin' flying ****?! Everything made in China comes into this country through THE WEST COAST! You Fail Geography Forever!

She goes on to state her support for the Bush administration (not surprising) and talk about vegetable trees, which she may see after the hefty doses of pro-psychotics she must be on.
    :jawdrop

She's pro-Bush yet she makes that above comment which sounds like someone trying to spout Commie propaganda while drunk and on some seriously mentally retarding drugs. I think I smell smoke coming out of my ears.

I couldn't watch any of that. The text alone killed several neurons and put a large portion of my cerebrum in severe neural shock. I did not want to risk my brain further by actually watching the video.

That's where fruit and vegetables come from"), and then proclaims herself a Bush supporter.
Probably this. See, it's the whole cult of celebrity of California (though too much of the rest of the nation follows it as well). Celebrities have all this passion and feeling for their fashionable pet issues, but seldom know squat. This is probably similar. She cares, but understands NOTHING. Nor does it make conservatives look good.

Come on. Not knowing squat on the issues, sure, but you really think someone's stupid enough to go to the council meeting and start talking about VEGETABLE TREES? There's no way. It's the perfect thing to say to sound like a caricature of an idiotic Bush supporter.

Am I really the only one who thinks this is fake?

Edit: Okay, I just looked through a bunch of Digg and Huffington Post comments, and nobody's calling this out as being fake. Is this actually real? Say it ain't so, Joe...

I personally believe that U.S. Americans are unable to do so because, uhmmm, some people out there in our nation don't have maps and uh, I believe that our, I, education like such as, uh, South Africa, and uh, the Iraq, everywhere like such as, and I believe that they should, uhhh, our education over here in the U.S. should help the U.S., uh, should help South Africa, it should help the Iraq and the Asian countries so we will be able to build up our future, for us.

Yeah, you should just not comment on things you know nothing about. California has the second smallest amount of state workers per capita of any state in the nation. And before the recession hit, we've had labor studies that concluded state workers were underpaid compared to our private industry counterparts by 20%. Oh, and since 1990 CA state workers have seen their pay go up by 14% while the cost of living has gone up by 48%. Oh, and the Governor has given us a 14% pay decrease since last November.

Again, for anyone in state service, people like this lady aren't even rare. We see similar stuff all the time. Nobody is as passionate as someone who's bat**** crazy and has free time to really develop it. They see a time and a place and get a microphone and a captive audience, it's a dream come true.

I don't believe it either, Czechs.

So if California doesn't waste money on salaries, why is the state broke

                    Re: Way to go, california

Believe it or not, most of the state's budget is not made up of state workers' salaries. CA is broke for the same reason that the U.S. is broke. There's no revenue coming in. California doesn't have the option of printing more money and there's a law that mandates a balanced budget be passed every year, unlike the feds.

If you want details, you're welcome to read on. The people of California are demanding the same level of service that they received in the pre-recession years, but they don't want to pay any higher taxes or fees. If you know of a solution to that conundrum, I'll happily vote for you in whatever capacity you might choose to run.

Get rid of money. Tell people so long as they work and contribute to society they will be given what they need to live a happy life. Everybody wins!
