Re: The government stole my TV

I find I rarely watch TV these days. Nothing is ever on, and there are usually better things to do.

Internet on the other hand.... I need to kick this ****ing habit.

EDIT: I edited out my obvious gay joke.

As I was going home, I saw a TV just sitting outside one of the curbs (with an antenna). I wonder if it's still out there.

It is not like they physically took your TV Highwind, they just took your moving pictures. You can still play with your vidio game paddles right?

Aside from DVDs, that is the only application I've used the TV for in years. I never got a box, and have no intent or desire to obtain one.

Well, if they don't take your food, then they will not have enough cornfields left for ethanol production. Geez, quit making them out to be such bad guys here.

I rarely watch TV myself. There's too much crap on pushing the good stuff off the air. The Neilsens are horribly outdated, they measure 1950's TV habits in an age where there's hundreds of cable channels competing with video games, DVDs (and even VCRs for those of us still using them), and the net. And TiVo wreaks havok with TV watching habits that they ratings can't account for. Yet advertisers and networks keep using them as an "accurate" measure of TV success.
