I thought the show was way older than that! Leik 60's old.

The best thing about Johnny Quest was the theme song from "The Real Adventures of..."

Well that certainly brings back memories. I'd forgotten that that they remade the show

            Heh heh, yeah.

(Watches the episode where they find a junkie Johnny in that batesphere.)

Ah, sweet memories. Where Race's daughter was introduced and times you got toys based on that show from Pizza Hut.

Pretty much. In typical Milton Caniff (the creator, a famous comic strip artist at the time) tradition it starred a young boy going on daring Indiana Jones-esque adventures with a sci-fi twist lead by his dad, dad's bodyguard, and adopted token Indian kid. You'd think a responsible scientist wouldn't take his 11 year old son globe trotting to fight monsters and aliens. Johnny was a martial artist, a crack shot with a rifle, and an expert acrobat while Haji had magic powers (SIM SIM SALABIM) and control over his entire body.

Johnny Quest probably inspired the entire shonen genre.

                  Re: Johnny Quest movie

I'm a fan of Dwayne Johnson (Southland Tales *****es) so this isn't horrible news for me. I always thought of Race Bannon as being older than the Rock and the first person who comes to mind when I think of him is Burt Reynolds.

But I suppose as long as they don't have Kal Penn as Haiji it'll be alright.

The Cyclops having only one eye, needed to seek shelter from the harsh sun. The shadow cast by the spheres gave him temporary respite.

They'll cast him as haji and then make it an adventure comedy.

I don't mind Kal Penn but his Indian accent in Van Wilder was atrocious. Oh snap! Neil Patrick Harris as Johnny Quest.

                            Re: Johnny Quest movie

I do like his character on House.

I have fond memories of the original Johny Quest, and I don't plan on spoiling them by watching the old cartoons again to see how horrible of a show it was. I already did that with The Herculoids and Thundarr the Barbarian.

The '90s one was pretty awesome, and kudos to Magus for reminding me of how incredibly awesome that intro sequence is/was.

Race's daughter is one of the reasons I like red-heads so much.

I have found myself warming up to Dwayne Johnson as an actor, especially now that he is trying his darndest to ditch his image as "The Rock." This might not be a total failure.

Guess this movie is tailor-made for ya!

And I don't like any of the new characters on House.

                                He should be embracing it!
