Re: GI JOOOOEEEEEEEE
Larry Hama is a consultant on this, so I have EXTREMELY high hopes for it.
he wrote all the Marvel Joe comics, along with the series from Devil's Due. The man is an amazing writer, who personally created 99.9% of the cast.
They got the Arashikage symbol on Snake-Eyes and Storm Shadow right. that shows a pretty good attention to detail. I'm also very happy that they seem to be focusing quite a bit on Destro and his MARS organization for the movie.

Re: GI JOOOOEEEEEEEE
That's Cobra Commander. and he was driven to that by Snake-Eyes. Fun fact, Snake-Eyes is single-handedly responsible for almost all of the conflict in GI Joe. He ****** off Cobra Commander, Firefly, and Baroness, driving them to turn into terrorists. good job, stupid mute ninja 'nam vet. Will he be a former used car salesmen turned world wide terrorist?
Destro has always run MARS, the weapons dealer. it's his family thing. he's not the first Destro, he's not the first to wear the helmet, and he wont be the last.
I dont know if they'll give him the helmet in the movie. if they do, I just hope it doesnt feature the oddly articulate lips from the cartoon.Last edited by Valkysas; 02-01-2009, 12:04 AM.

Re: GI JOOOOEEEEEEEE
I would be surprised. Hasbro is taking GI Joe very seriously these days. they're even producing a new animated series full actual killing and bloodshed. Also remember that hasbro legal forced those people to stop the parody vids. so yeah, GI Joe is serious business to Hasbro.Do you think in G.I. Joe some characters will ask "Who wants a body massage?" Or yell "Porkchop sandwiches!" ?
Transformers is the property that Hasbro is having all the fun with. They even put "JAAM" on the new Hot Shot figure's license plate, which is a reference to a comic re-write that did nothing but make fun of the Hot Shot character.
No fun little things like that have been done in the new Joe line. They just take it too damn seriously.Last edited by Valkysas; 02-01-2009, 12:31 AM.

Re: GI JOOOOEEEEEEEE
It'd be nice though. Considering the U.S. military and its worldwide image I can see why they'd take G.I. Joe in a more serious direction.
Unrelated, but I figure now's a good time to ask as any: is that Transformers Animated cartoon with Tom Kenny as Starscream still on? What's been going on with that?Last edited by Magus; 02-01-2009, 12:33 AM.

Re: GI JOOOOEEEEEEEE
Transformers Animated finished Season 2 last year, and Season 3 is currently in production (will take them back into space, to meet up with the likes of Rodimus Prime, Wheeljack, Cyclonus, and others). Season 3 will probably be the end of it though. everyone on the production staff loves it, the hasbro designers love it, but according to a very reputable and very well-connected person at tfw2005.com, hasbro bigwigs want to shift focus ENTIRELY to the movie line and ditch animated in favor of keeping the movie stuff going permanently. maybe animated can survive as a sub-line, or something. like the current Universe line
both seasons (and the first 3 episode miniseries) are on DVD now though.
I'll miss the **** out the series if it does end. lots of people are fighting for it to stay alive though.Last edited by Valkysas; 02-01-2009, 12:38 AM.

Re: GI JOOOOEEEEEEEE
I don't really have too high of hopes for this movie, the casting seems all over the place.
And as for Destro's helmet, I read awhile back that they were planning on keeping the moving lips, and in order to explain how it works they were pulling a Metal Gear Solid and saying it's made up of a colony of nanomachines.
... Yeah.
