A new film from Tim Burton, starring Elijah Wood.

It is based off of a short film of the same name by Shane Acker

Oh yeah, I saw that in theaters when it was part of The Animation Show. So they're letting Tim Burton direct it? Was something wrong with Shane Acker? {:/

Produced by Tim Burton, I believe.

I'm excited about an american animation that's actually like filled with action.

He only has three direction credits, all for short animated films. Producing movies is all about eliminating as much risk as possible. That's why almost everything that comes out is a remake or adaptation; there's already an audience. Tim Burton has an audience.

They probably wouldn't have green-lighted this project if the short hadn't been nominated for an Oscar.

I really like the short though, hopefully the feature will be treated well.

edit: how's this for a cast: Jennifer Connelly, John C Reilly, Elijah Wood, Crispin Glover, Martin Landau, and Christopher Plummer

Yeah, the fact that no one would go see it.

Well, Tim Burton is just so great with remakes that I'm gonna make sure I run right out and see this the minute it hits my local cineplex.

I smell the next hot topic at Hot Topic.
Find a dog, honk it's nose. If you are bothered by this sentence. I guess you're just not cool enough for the noses.

I'd be impressed with a well-done feature length animation that has no dialogue. Even Les Triplettes de Belleville required some voice work.

But yeah, why even attempt something like that when you can put John C Reilly's, Elijah Wood's, and Jennifer Connelly's names on it anyway?

                            Re: 9

It's hard enough to market a silent live action film, let alone an animated one.

And thus, success is so much more the sweeter.
