    Which version?

Edit: And that's what it's all about, DK. The movies had their moments, but most of them were unfaithful pieces of trash that simply took the idea and made a whole new movie out of it.

What confuses me is Rick saying they got better after the 2000 mark. There is only a few movies that I found remotely enjoyable after that point. Though, I haven't seen Hearts in Atlantis or The Mist. Actually, I can't think of a whole lot of his movies that I enjoyed.

I thought it was okay. Not what I would call good, but I wouldn't call it terrible, either. It is more of a meh... or in movie limbo.

Yeah, I'm mostly concentrating on Secret Window, 1408, and The Mist. Especially The Mist. =3

I've been meaning to check out The Mist. I might have a chance this weekend.

The ending to The Mist made me mad. I mean, I get that it's supposed to be like a modern Lord of the Flies, but the ending was so expeted and cliche that I wanted to throw a rock at my TV.

I don't think you're qualified to make decisions about what you like.

I love Running Man. It has some of Ahnold's most laughable lines ever! And Richard Dawson as the villain! It's campy fun through and through!

The Mist and 1408 were great. I'm reading the "complete and unabridged" version of The Stand.

And finally I also wanted to say I really enjoy Storm of the Century as well. As is The Running Man :3

Lord of the Flies did it better. All I have to say about the movie.

Lord of the Flies didn't have that awesome pharmacy scene.

I'm actually reading The Stand right now.
I have both the original in hardcover (bought at the thrift store I worked at for a time for a quarter) and the unabridged version in paperback, but have only read the latter.

I had just moved into a halfway house, and with nothing else to do but kill time, I ended up reading all 1000+ pages in three days, including one stretch from about 3 pm until 3 am. Good times.

Actually, I'd KILL for a faithful adaptation of Gerald's Game. I do not know if that would even be possible, though.

And Carrie WAS good IMHO, both the novel and the film. I to this day find it funny that as his first novel, Carrie is quite a bit shorter than most of his later novellas.

And so much different than most anything else he's ever written in style.

Unabridged The Stand is the best. I've read 'em both, and the Unabridged is pretty great. The original published version lacks a bit.

Lord of the Flies and The Mist are only comparable in thematic element, otherwise they're two completely different stories. And The Mist is a better movie than The Lord of the Flies adaptations. As for books, I like Lord of the Flies.
