I'm here right now- had a blast at the reunion, hope everybody's Birthday went well for them too. Some sweet stuff went down up here, I'll talk more about it later...
Took me 15 minutes to remember how to change my signature, and this is all I came up with.
My dad apparently got his first gigantor bonus from Chrysler... He didn't tell anyone how much but needless to say it was a lot.
He sat me and my wife down and gave us 5,000 dollars. Then he sat my sister down and gave her 5,000 dollars. Then my brother the same. Then the kicker-
He said "don't save it, don't do anything responsible with it, you don't even have to tell us how you're going to spend it, but have fun, because we want to make sure everybody has fun with this money while we're around to see it". Not that he's that old or anything, just that males in my family do tend to have health complications fairly young- but he also said that when they're gone everyone will be well provided for in their absence.
He also said he's now completely debt free, as in no payments on anything. I'm so stoked, we can finally (after a year and several months of marriage) go on our honeymoon and not worry about missing a week or two of work...
I'm also getting a new computer desk, possibly some bedroom furniture, and just going to enjoy having some spending cash for a while. Plus, I think I know what my dad has planned for the rest of his bonus, which apparently still ISN'T all spent yet... and I'm really excited for him to get all the really nice things he deserves for working so hard since he started the family so long ago...
Anyway, it was also my birthday, my sister's birthday celebration, my brother's graduation celebration, my mother's birthday celebration plus mother's day celebration, plus an early father's day celebration, so all around it was one kick-arse three day party, plus the first day was a family reunion.
I've been so excited and happy for the past three days that I haven't been able to sleep very much at all. And now I have to break down my old pc desk because the new one is being delivered tomorrow. I'm so stoked...
