Joss Whedon's New Opus: Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog
Re: Joss Whedon's New Opus: Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog
This was really cute. I haven't watched act 3 yet (dunno if it's up or not). It is rather mediocre for a musical, and I really didn't get a good laugh until Nathan Fillion showed up. (<3).
As for the Firefly musical, as much as Joss loves the characters, I don't think he has too much sway on being able to produce more stuff with them. That's why I think he was rather limited on what he could use from the original series (seeing as Fox owns most of the rights to those, and Universal owns the movie rights.) As silly as it might sound, they were actually limited on using names for certain characters in the Role-Playing book. It was sad, actually. But then agian, I could be wrong, and he might not be able to get the funding to do more with the characters.
I do remember him mentioning that Adam Baldwin had real issues with Jayne, because he loved the character so much. I think he mentioned on a commentary that Adam Baldwin didn't think he could return to being Jayne because it was really painful to loose him. I have to check my commentaries again. It's been a while.

Nice on The Tick thing. I might have to buy this on DVD when it eventually hits. Because all of my friends whom I linked and told to check it out before it was gone did not in fact check it out before it was gone, and now they're all like "WAAAAAH I WAS GONNA" so someone's gonna buy it eventually. Unless they want more than $10 for it.
