Re: Hells Kitchen: Chef Just Owned Some Loser

Well, the thing is, they don't really get "good" chefs. They get one or two really good ones, the ones that Ramsey really won't mind hiring. Then the rest suck.

Like seriously- who picks food out of the trash and thinks it's acceptable to use it? You don't even have to work in a restaurant to know that's completely unacceptable.

So "good" chefs don't really have much chance of getting on the show. "Great" and "god-awful" ones stand a fairly good chance though.

The real issue is, if they were all top quality chefs, then Ramsey wouldn't get to pitch a fit or it would look like he had to really try to find something wrong. And if they were all terrible, then there's no way in hell he'd really turn any duties over to them.
Took me 15 minutes to remember how to change my signature, and this is all I came up with.

The fact Mr. Stay-at-home-Dad made it on the show, is enough to prove they're not really picking the highest quality chefs.

Yeah but Stay-at-home-mom was one of the strongest chefs from Season 3.

Had she ever worked in a kitchen before?

I haven't seen season 3, but this guy had obviously never cooked professionally in his life.

Is there just a Youtube clip of him berating people so we can get the gist?

The F Word was a good show, Kitchen Nightmares was alright.

Hell's Kitchen is kinda meh, it's like Ramsay is just doing an over the top parody of himself.
"At first it just looked like a picture of a bunch of lily pads, but then I started scraping at it with my pocket knife and the whole painting just sort of spoke to me," Schmidt said. "For the first time, I finally understand what Monet was trying to get across in her work."

I HATE how they always call him chef. Its always all YES CHEF, YES CHEF, YES CHEF. Ive never worked in a kitchen where the chef is self absorbed enough to want everybody to call them chef. They have names, and want you call them by it. A few years ago when I was taking this culinary arts course we had this one guy running around going YES CHEF at everything the teachers told him, while everybody else called them by their names. He was ALWAYS ****ing **** up and only lasted the first semester. I think he watched too much Hells Kitchen or something.

Id be calling Ramsey by his first name, and maybe YES SIR at best.

When I worked at Massanutten we had a chef that was so self-absorbed he wanted to be called "chef", no one who worked with me knew his name.

Here I come Pav, like the Kool-Aid man barging into a funeral! Oh yeah!
