came across this article this morning...
My family owns an electric carver and love it, and had an electric can opener too. Although we had to have a back up opener in case the power went out.
My sisters and I owned a crimper, and yeah, retro there but we still used it.
I agree with fondue sets, I got one for Christmas 3 years ago and haven't opened it. Also, yesterday I was walking home and saw a delapitated foot spa on the curb for the garbage man, so I agree there.
Thoughts?
Edit- I also want to add to the list that wax dipping kit from about 7 years ago. I have never owned one but thought it pointless. Basically, you would melt a bar of wax in something that looked like a slow cooker. Then dip a body part (Hand, foot, elbow) in the vat of wax and coat it. Once it dries, you remove the layer of wax and that body part is softer. Here's the thing. The company recommended placing the wax shell BACK IN THE VAT and reuse it over and over again. Ewww, stewing your own skin flecks. How much time would someone have to melt that bar everytime?
