Sorry in advance for going off-topic, Bonanza, but it seems as if you are my polar opposite. You make threads about mainstream Hollywood films. I make posts about little indie/foreign/obscure films nobody's heard of before. You post about mainstream rap, and I post about indie/foreign/obscure bands that very few have heard of before; and when I do reference rap, it's usually indie/intelligent hip hop, like Del the Funky Homosapien or Mr. Lif or Aesop Rock, or turntablist stuff like Kid Koala or Jurassic 5 or DJ Shadow.

You make celebrity topics. If I EVER make a celebrity topic, it'll probably have a link to The Onion in the first post. Plus, you're black and I'm white. As colors, they ARE polar opposites.


This post is not meant to diss you or say that I'm better in any way than you, but it's just funny that most of the regulars, I have at least SOMETHING in common with. Well, I guess in our case, we're both human beings.

But yeah...keep making these kinds of threads. All of us holier-than-thou Pavvies (myself included) sometimes need to hear what is going on in the mainstream of American culture.


Edit to add: I have no clue what Semi-Pro even is, but from its title and your mention of Will Ferrell, I'm guessing that it's either some sport spoof like Dodgeball or whatever that movie was called, or Will Ferrell trying his hand at "serious" acting.

A lot of people find it funny when Will yells at the top of his lungs, or acts like a complete jackass without knowing it, so yes. I think Will brings his own over the top, obnoxious feel to a script.
