Re: Why is 110lbs so heavy?!

My max back in high school was somewhere between 225-250lbs.

I used to do sets on a bench with heavy weights, but can't remember if it was a little below or over 200.

Course after I graduated in 2002, I haven't been to a gym since. Lift heavy weights and then stop, some stretch marks will show up when you get weaker again.

Yeah but two hundred pounds isn't really that much.

If you're about 170lbs and you can bench 200 without ever working out, you ought to look into body building, as you have some serious potential.
It was just an metaphor. Not really a comparison. Just saying that he never said how many reps/sets he does. A flat out all energy push is different from a workout.

            It is if you're untrained.

I mean, in your average gym half the guys that consistently work out can't even put up 300.

Honestly, if you have the genetics to put up 200 untrained you could probably get up into the 550 range, putting you around your average NFL lineman or power lifter.

It's just once that I can push 200. Once every few weeks my friend will drag me to the gym and I normally bench press like 145 in reps. I've always been a short burst sort of guy. Never been a marathon lifter/runner due to asthma or laziness. In all honesty 200 is probably an exaggeration these days, but I did it about 5 or 6 months ago.

The most I could lift was 160 and that was when I was working out. Now I'm lucky if I can lift a turkey sandwich.

i use to be able to push tons with my legs but my arms have always been weak. its only when i was really using them that i was able to life washers, boxes of vinal siding, and half carpet rolls. i really wasnt the physical type so i didnt pay enough attention or go far in body training.

Thank you Ωbright for the sig fix!

I never got into all that. Although, I did take a weight training class for one of my choices in gym one year on a whim, and the only thing I really liked doing was that machine where you get put your head through that hole with all the padding, and put your hands on the handles, and thrust up and down as fast as you can.

I don't even know what the purpose of it was, or what it was supposed to do, but that was the only thing I enjoyed in those 4 weeks.
