Well if i Had to give a game of the year award, i sure wouldn't award it to Halo3. Maybe Bioshock, but still, there were better games that came out. To be honest though.. nothing really edgy did come out this year.

I think game of the year should require at least two genres, though. Even if the other games aren't as good, at least you don't have two "FPS of the Year" awards.

The only Wii game that was even nominated (in the Mountain Dew catagory) was Wii Sports. Which we all know woudn't have won.

I think that Nintendo, Sony, any japanese developer, etc. didn't allow their games to be on the show. Thus we get other developers that do allow it to be on the show, thus "FPS of the Year".

Because Game of the Year has to be a FPS.

Really though, they don't really have thier categories right. If you had categories such as Best FPS, Best Platform, Best RPG, Best MMORPG, Best RTS, Best Sports Game, Best Racing Game, Best Fighter, Best Console Game for Sony PLaystation, X-Box, Wii, DS, PSP, PC, Best Peripheral Device, and then Best Overall Game of the Year, that would be a good Video Game Award Show. Oh alright, maybe stick in "Most Memorable Male and Female Character" also or something like that.

Remember when they gave awards to "King Kong"?

Too many categories. Doesn't give Sam enough time to yell, not to mention it would cut into time allotted for horrendous musical performances that haven't a thing to do with video games.
