Re: Canada question.

It's like our McDonalds, but with coffee and bagels. It's an enormous franchise, and with Wendy's they have grown larger. Good coffee though. There are 5 or so in the city I live in now, but I used to live in St. Catharines Ontario (Once the donut capitol of the world... seriously) and there are like 40-50 of them in a city of 130 000 people, plus all the other coffee/donut franchises.

Re: Canada question.
The town where Karr and I used to live has a population of 30,000 and at least 10 Tim Hortons off the top of my head. You could be in one Tim Horton's and be able to see into another one a ways down the road.
Up until 3 years ago, Tim's still used fresh batter/dough in the outlets and used boxes that would hold 12 donuts standing up. However, they have since switched to frozen dough that is shipped in, and the boxes were switched to the flat case-like ones that the US uses in Dunkin DOnuts, etc. ( I HATE this style as you can't hold the box with one hand or donuts fall out!). This switch was made amid rumours that Tim's was becoming more "Americanized" in preparation for public trading which happened earlier this year.
I have had more than 5 generations work at Tim Horton's, their Hot Chocolate is the best. Which commercial did you see?Last edited by Sezjeuric; 12-05-2007, 10:19 PM.

Re: Canada question.
I dont drink their coffee, but their donuts suck balls.
A Donut King opened up right across the street from a Tim Hortons here, and their donuts are freshly made every day in the back. I had some of their Sourcream donuts. I could only eat 2 before I couldnt eat anymore. They were so rich and filling. They also serve sandwiches and coffee, muffins, little fancie desserts, etc.
Timmies come frozen in boxes ready to be fried, with glazes in bags to dip in.
