    Re: Favorite Horror Films?

I feel asleep(and yes, that typo's on purpose, heh) within the first 20 minutes of Blair Witch. I found the sequel, Book of Shadows, to be more interesting. Not necessarily good, but more interesting, at least.

Has anyone here seen Suspiria? I've heard such good things about it, and I'm curious as to how good it is.

I'm not a big horror buff, but 'It' was a good watch.
      ...and that's why.

I couldn't stand Book of Shadows. The things that happened in it were so idiotic. Worst of all the part where they watched the video tape of the girl burying the video tapes. Either she left that one in the camera so it could record her then found it and buried it with the others instead of destroying it or it's a magic tape that can keep recording after it's taken out of the camera.

Everything I really like has already been named other than The Hitcher (original)

I don't know that I'd call it a favorite, but the one that scared me the most was the remake of The Fly with Jeff Goldblum. I was relatively young when it came out and the arm-wrestling scene chased me out of the room. I still haven't seen the entire movie all the way through, though I've caught most of the graphic scenes as clips here and there.

Generally I like suspense more than gore, unless it's hilariously over the top.

Alien, 28 Days Later, Shaun of the Dead, Dawn of the Dead(both), The Thing, Tremors(not so much horror, but still one of my favorite movies).

Duel is also great, the movie Joy Ride a few years back was somewhat similar and also enjoyable.

I also love cheesy B monster movies that they show all the time on Scifi. Has anyone seen Mosquitoe? God, it's hilarious in every possible way.

Dog Soldiers was actually a good TV movie that wasn't terribly cheesy.

                    Cannibal Holocaust!

                    The Thing
                    Devils Rejects
                    Hills Have Eyes
                    Dawn of the Dead
                    Planet Terror

I hated the first Hostel, but I really enjoyed the second one.

More as I think of 'em.

I wish it was Favorite "Sci-fi and Horror."

edit: Oh yeah, 1408 was pretty good. Normally not my type of horror but still good.
