Re: Girl's feet cut off at six flags

They were testing with the cable seperating a person in half not ripping off a limb.
The Cyclops having only one eye, needed to seek shelter from the harsh sun. The shadow cast by the spheres gave him temporary respite.

Y'know, I feel badly for the people that this happen to. But when you go and read the story again and look at the part where the other girl said she had given up that seat and sat elsewhere, you gotta wonder what goes through thier minds. It's got to have a deep psychological effect on them as well, saying "That could have been me." Maybe they even feel guilt, thinking it should have been them and they're glad it wasn't.

yea, though they where looking for half seperation, how is this not different? the person was still cut in two peices, whether one is equal or not is another question but its still two peices and its not something minor like a cliped toe or a severed finger, and it was done by a cable.

if a cable can slice a foot off, then theirs not much difference in the waist below the rib case. just the spine to worry about as the rest is soft tissue. i think velocity of the ride and cable, as well as the rigidity of the placement of the person, and possibly the thinkness of the cable where the key factors here. its all a mater of physics.

a human hand can smash through hard substances providing the object has no absorbsion of the strength used (not allowed to flex or otherwise absorb the power from the strike). karati is famous for this. it would depend on the layout of the ride and what kind of leg suport there was and where the cable exactly came though and the possision of the feet during this.

every object will slice through if the velocity is there. it all depends on how much absorbtion the object being hit takes, how much speed is lost by the impact, the stength of both objects and other forces like rigid suport and thickness.

bah im trying to explain physics at 2am.

So I guess when it comes to park safety, they don't have a leg to stand on.
Don't they grow back or something?

I got to wonder if anyone below was hit by her falling feet?

I imagine having a greater surface area to absorb a greater amount of force is the big difference. Like how it's easier to snap a smaller branch.

that sounds quite logical and makes a bit more sence.
