    Abstinance programs

You already knew this, but it still ****** me off. I swear, abstinance programs are one of the biggest waste of taxpayer money.

            Tighter belt?

But a trade association for abstinence educators emphasized that the findings represent less than 1 percent of all Title V abstinence projects across the nation.

"This study began when (the programs) were still in their infancy," said Valerie Huber, executive director of the National Abstinence Education Association. "The field of abstinence has significantly grown and evolved since that time and the results demonstrated in the Mathematica study are not representative of the abstinence education community as a whole."
I don't know what to make of this. So it works but doesn't work?

I just don't get what the abstinance people are trying to accomplish. Do they really think there's some teens out there who'll think "You mean I could NOT have sex? I had no idea!"

id rather see such money go towards prevention of sexualy transmited desises and awareness rather then abstinace. no one listens anyway so its better to get the word out then try to enforce a dead campeign.

Thank you Ωbright for the sig fix!

                        Re: Abstinance programs

Teaching abstinance without teaching birth control is like doing a fire safety seminar and all you say is "Don't set your house on fire." And if someone has the audacity to ask what to do in the event a fire does happen you call them a slut.
