I'm a little bit worried that the entire existance of these sheep is because people want their organs. They have no other reason for being alive . Still, some people really need those organs to live.

So how is killing them for their organs to keep some of us alive, different from killing them for nourishment to keep some of us alive different again? Though I am a little wierded out each time we mess with biological makeups, as it does feel unnatural, I'm also kind of excited. Thinking of the possibilities if we are able to perfect biological science. Unfortunately testing usually involves things dieing or becoming horribly mutated, unlike testing in say technology or physics.

But I don't think there is anything more wrong with harvesting animals for organs. It might even lead us to discover a way to have organs without the need of a host body to store them. I think it's a bit short sighted to just think we all have a 'time' to go, what if we're really supposed to find a way to prolong our stay here, and that's the only reason our time comes.

So yeah I'm not seeing how this is any more immoral.

You can get by without eating meat. If we devoted the space we used for growing animals and their food for agriculture, we could keep even more of us alive. I think meat is more a luxury food than a neccesity.

What is most bothersome about the article is the mention of the silent animal viruses that could be introduced into the human population as a result of the transplants.
