Gurren Lagann. ****ing awsome show. Robots, action, cool characters, explosions. Epic manly scenes that had me in awe, going "NO WAY?!". Its animation is friggin beautiful too. Gotta love Gainax.
Yeah the animation was all weird looking in the 4th episode and stupid fans were relentlessly *****ing about it saying it would ruin the series or something. Director posted a message on 2chan to fans about something, and he ended up leaving, which really sucks.
Dont **** with 2chan.
Takami Akai, the producer of the series and a co-founder of Gainax, announced that he would resign his position effective episode five, which aired on April 29, 2007, over comments that he made regarding posts on the Japanese Internet forum 2channel. Akai and another Gainax employee, Keiko Mimori, made disparaging remarks about comments criticizing the animation style of of Gurren Lagann's fourth episode, completely directed by guest Osamu Kobayashi. With regard to reading the fan criticisms, he stated that it was "like putting [his] face next to an anus and breathing deeply." Fans later became aware of his comments, and he announced his departure from the company he helped to found.
Has anyone seen this? It's out in theatres soon here in America and sounds really neat. Basically, it's an anime about an investigator who goes into people's dreams to solve crimes and whatnot...reminds me of Psychonauts.
