Let's not forget, he also saved the FUTURE. (This was, of course, after he tried to destroy it)

The Gay Marrage issue isn't an issue to churche, but to the state. You can be married by the church, but not legally by state, and vice-versa. This was a legal decision based on prejiduced and ignorant beliefs...

Gay Marrage was banned in Oregon a while ago, after people found a loophole and flocked to get married.

It was pretty sad, seeing the line of hopeful people, and the lone Christian wearing a "GOD HATES YOU" sign on his body and yelling at them.

          And then it became illegal.

There are reasons to hate just about every state (and their citizens) in the US.

            It's sad but it's true.

It's just that Indiana also has a citizen base that's...not to be ignorant, but uh..ignorant.

And that folks is a prime example of hate being legislated...

It's sad when someone's morality blocks someone else's right to happiness.

I don't let my dislike of their idiocy ruin their happiness..I just really wish everyone would be open-minded

                  Want people to be open-minded?

Best place to start is to talk to those people. Try to teach them to think. They'll only refuse to be open minded if they don't want to be. In such a case, they are beyond help, as they'll come to it own their own, if they ever do.

I do talk to people, it's just (please excuse me, I don't mean any offense) that most of my friends's parents shove Christianity so far down their throats that it's hard for them to think for themselves.

Please don't take offense from that.

There's a difference between a Christian and a bible thumper. A lot of what these fundies shove down people's throats is not Christianity, but conspicuous consumption, meaningless ritual, and double standards. All a part of Maxwell Weber's coined protestant ethic.

Yeah, sorry for the wrong terminology.

My dad's a Christian who doesn't follow 80% of the Bible.

So I can see the viewpoints well enough

I'd be amazed to see either a Christian or a fundamentalist that follows even 10% of the bible. It's nigh impossible, humans being the flawed and imperfect creatures they are, and the bible being the contradictory man-made and overly edited/censored piece of work it is.

The fundamentalist simply adds their own BS interpretation to the bible and presents it as fact, having an emotional need to be right, and by their nature inherently ignore scioentifically proven data via scientific method.

Real Christians, on the other hand, are very deserving of respect for their views, in my opinion, even if I may not agree with them 100%.

                            Terr, you're very, very smart.

And I agree with many of the philosophies you've shown.
