As to save the The Fountain topic, heres a topic where you can rant about Eragon and such to your hearts content.
Also, I have to flesh out what I said about one of those godd fantasy reads (spoilers for the begining, obviously, but I'll try to keep em light.)
Abarat: By Clive Barker. Starts out in Chickentown, MN. Stuff happens, girl walks out to a prarie, BAM! Meets a guy with horns like a moose. With seven heads on it. And they each have a personality. And they are ALL. NAMED. JOHN. John Serpent, Sallow, Drowsee, Slop, Fillet, two others, and the body is named Mischief. Other things happen, and she ends up on a sea that came out of freakin nowhere. Then she goes to the Abarat, where there are 24 islands, each being a different hour of the day. I.E, The Yebba Dim Day is 8 o clock in the morning. So, time is actually a place. The whole book kinda continues in that vein: EVERYTHING has some sort of weird quirk yet takes itself seriously, and you will, too.
