    My Avatar

I uploaded an animated gif, but it's not animated anymore. How can I fix this?

If the file size was too large, it'll only display the first frame.

      Thanks.

Ok, I resized it so it's less than 150x150, but it still doesn't work.

edit: oh wait, it's no longer animated at all. Hmm. Forget it, I'll figure this out. Thanks anyway.

If you can upload the file on imageshack or photobucket, I can figure out what the problem is and probably fix it.

Ah, up. file size is the problem. it's waaaaaay too large. it's half a megabyte. that's why it's only accepting the first frame.

Thanks. Someone posted it at the mag and I liked it. So they get the credit.

nope. there's no way I'm letting someone have a half-megabyte avatar.

it would freeze 56k users in their tracks, and browsing the forums from a mobile browser like on the PSP would become impossible.

Ok thats fine. I didn't know it would have that kind of effect on people.

                    Thanks anyway.

                      It's more interesting this way.

Also, there's an insane video that uses that little clip as well. It's freaking insane, but I don't know where it is or what it's called. Someone probably posted it here not too long ago.

                        200kb... Still a little large

                        80kb... Yeah still large...

                        60kb... Getting better...

                        22kb... Less than Valks.

Thanks man, but I don't want to risk a crash like Valkysas said.. Also the last two are way to fast.

                          I appreciate it though.

any file size the site will allow is safe.

I forget what I set the limit at though...
