PLEASE. The first thing I agree with Boo on. The pavilion has gotten 23% stupider since the adoption of the term vidya. That's quantifiable fact.

Not that anyone cares but I'm uh, probably going to stop coming here if it got banned. I think it's bull**** I can't say something I think is funny because some people don't like it. I don't remember beefs being added to the filter when everyone *****ed out RPGD over it.

we'd need pretty much a 95% vote to ban the word for it to actually happen.

its not used THAT much, and its just a replacement word for something commonly discussed here. I hate it myself, but would I want to tell people that they can't say it? no.

now, I do have a history of censoring other words, so I'll explain my reasoning for those real quick.

the real name of mr. walker texas ranger is censored to get rid of the stupid jokes about him that spring up everywhere, even today. those jokes are never, ever on topic, they're spam. people shouldnt be spamming anyways, so honestly, the censoring of his name hurts nothing. especially since EVERYONE hates those jokes.

a popular video site run by eric bauman steals content from creators every single day, and I'm not going to allow him to make more money off other people's work via links from the pavilion.

another popular video site was frequently linked to in the youtube goldmine site, but this particular site hosts adult content as well, and it's often linked to directly from same page more innocent videos are played on. we can't have that. so it is blocked.

"vidya", as much as people hate it, is completely on-topic at this place. we know what it means. it's not spam. it's not objectionable content, and is not linked to anything objectionable. it annoys some of us, but oh well.

let me know when you have *checks member list* around 1100 supporters of banning the word.
