    Please Help!

I got this game for me and the kids to play together and it's been great so far.
I was helping my son build his own game (he's only 6) and he wanted his main character to be a little boy. I had to add a class to him so that he could level up and etc., but now the character doesn't participate in battles. He wanted a Gladiator Class durring battles but not through the rest of the game. Why won't the character do anything durring the battles and what can I do so he can have the game set up the way he wants.

    Thanks A Bunch!

    Hello Rachel,
How cool that you got this game to help your son make his own game! That way you don't have to worry about all of the stuff that isn't intended for kids his age in other games that are available.

    So, regarding your query-
What does the battle look like?
I'm picturing your gladiator class model facing some kind of monster(s).
What happens when you choose to attack? If he doesn't attack, it could be that the battle position is too far away from the monster. Make sure he is in one of the front three boxes in the formation.

To find out, go to the in-game menu (the one that tells you all of your characters stats) and choose "formation" and move the character forward to one of the first three boxes, the ones closest to the top of the screen.

This is the only thing that comes to mind right now. I don't have the game in front of me right now. Feel free to post more if this doesn't help. There are lots of people on here who know the ins and outs of this game.

Also when you create a monster, you have to also assign it to a "Monster Party", also you have to select where the monster party will be available for fighting, if you are in a field with a variety of landscapes(dirt, rock, grasslands, etc...), you will have to set the monster party for every landscape type(you can find this on the last page of the field information)

I ran into this same problem when I started RPGM3

It doesn't even allow me to pick an option for an attack ... He's positioned in the front on the left hand side (on top of arrow)...(with a space between each) One gorilla beside him, a birdman behind him, and a mystical beast behind the gorilla. It just skips his main character's turn all together. Like he was set not to fight in the battles at all. I assigned all the monsters to monster parties and I assigned which ones for the field but not for specific landscapes. I'll try that and see. Thanks!

Does his battle guage fill up with the other characters or does it stay empty?

Yes, it is set to gladiator. It's weird because it worked fine before he had no class set but as soon as I set one to him, he stoped participating in the battles. I tried to go back and set it to none again just to see what would happen but he still wouldn't fight in the battles.

oh yeah rpgm3 doesnt have a battle guage....silly me

anyways...is there anything else you did when you set the gladiator class to him?, why not just delete the character and re-create him and set him to active again? It shouldnt really effect nothing in-game if you do that, although a few more opinions of this tactic I feel would be necessary, as Im not sure if the game recalls scripts to the cell number its stored in or to the name of the character its stored in during gameplay...if anyone understood that, I tried to make it as clear as i could

Some characters may require a weapon before they attack....Im not sure

I would make sure that your character is part of the party first: it seems simple but I accidently deleted part members somehow, so this might fix the problem. Also, you may want to doublecheck the character's agility if he is present for battles, but not actually taking turns.

...and doesn't RM3 have that colored line behind character's names that show who's turn is up next? Isn't that like a "battle guage"?

According to her screen name it's RPG Maker 3, so she's in the right place.

This is just a hunch, but...

Are you resuming from a game save, or are you beginning a new game each time? If you aren't, try it again by starting a new game. Sometimes game save data and actual game data don't quite match up.

I would surely hope it's RPG Maker 3. All the others would be much to hard for a 6 year old to play.
