Even if they'd okay it, there'd be some sort of appeal that would get it overturned.

I was looking for a better reason to hate a state then that.

.....ok how many other states dont have the same problems listed in that lame article?

The lack of commonsense runs rampant throughout Indiana.

Indiana has a scary ass fascist sort of governor. Evan Bayh. Word has it that the democratic party is looking to run him in 2008, and he's about as crooked AND authoritarian as Bush...

Name one state in the Northeast that has the same problems as Indiana

The article talks about financial corruption, lack of quality education, and the quality of life.

You said name one state in the northeast with these problems....

                  ok.. Maryland

                    That's a District, not a state.

To be fair, Indiana is Midwest, not Northeast...

Well, I was just being nice...but to be honest, just about every state is going to have one of those problems.

Its not just indiana, stop whining.

I know it's not just Indiana.

                          It's a lot of states.

A lot of states that aren't in the Northeast.

If I were a minister or priest in that state, I'd allow gays to marry anyway. The government has no right enforcing a religion on the population, as the first amendment calls for strict separation bertween church and state. Thomas Jefferson himself explained to the Danbury, Conneticut Baptist Association who asked him about a rumor of the government wanting to make an official religion: "I contemplate with solemn reverence the act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should make no law respecting the establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof, thus building a wall of separation between church and state."

Then the supreme court established the seperation between churh and state in the 1st amendment during Everton vs. Board of Education, using Jefferson's explanation.

Church doesn't like gays marrying? Their problem, not everyone elses. Everyone else should be entitled to marriage no matter their sexual orientation, and should seek marriage, be it legal or not.

Yeah, you'd think someone by now would've stood up by now and said "Hey uh guys? Aren't we not allowed to be bible thumpers? Like theres that whole thing where we can't make decisions based on religion..." But I guess they've been taught to keep hush-hush about it... tis sad.

Besides Terr... if you were a priest you'd scare me. "And the lord said onto thee, destory all your gas guzzling monsters you call SUVs!" "Thats not what the bible says..." "Well it should."
