Super Mario 64
The Legend of Zelda OoT
The Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask
Mario Party 2
Perfect Dark
James Bond: 007
Starfox 64
Paper Mario
Super Smash Brothers
Turok: Dinosaur Hunter
Harvest Moon 64
Conker's Bad Fur Day
...Well that's my list. In my opinion that's enough to make a console worth buying.
I enjoyed many of N64's games. My friend owned one and we used to go to his house and play Goldeneye all night. A few years later, we migrated to Perfect Dark, Mario Tennis, and the Mario Party series.
We consider the N64 to be an awesome multiplayer console.
A shame we never saw any Metroid on it though. Would have been great.

man your battle stations
we'll have you dead pretty soon...
Banjo-Tooie, too. I just bought this a few months ago, and it still holds up. I had a frigging blast playing it.
N64 doesn't have the huge variety of quality software that the PSOne had, and it definitely lacked in, say, the RPG department. As someone who only buys a few games per year anyway, that worked out fine for me. It had enough great games to make me very, very glad to have owned one.
Nightmare Creatures doesn't count, because it was multi-platform, as was Killer Instinct Gold (I think).
KI Gold IIRC, was only for the N64.
Pandable, I'm attracted to you now. That's EXACTLY the list I would've made for great N64 games. The N64 was the only system after the SNES that gave me almost a decade of fun.
