    Self-destructing UMDs.

I've had this problem with 3 PSP games so far. the things just fall apart at random. I don't mistreat them at all, they're either in their cases, or in the PSP.

Megaman Powered Up and Megaman Maverick Hunter X had started splitting in half. that was relatively easy to fix, just carefullyglue the two halves of white plastic back together.

Now with Maverick Hunter X and PoPoLoCrois, the round piece of transparent plastic on top is coming out of the white disc housing. how the hell am I supposed to fix this? it can't be glued without risking getting glue on the disc itself. and I can't even play the damn games as they are, unless I want them getting even worse.

Anyone else have this problem? any reccomendations?

Could be you are putting to many megamans a PSP can hold! LOL.

Honestly, I think it is your PSP doing the damage, Like if a CD player had a lazer that is to close to the CD.

did you buy a secondhand psp from a mysterious man in a backalley with a fake beard and smelled like spoiled gin?

because i've had my psp since it's release date and i've never had a problem with it. my umd's sit in my desk drawer or they're thrown in a metal locker where they slip and slide around on the ship. i've dropped my psp numerous times, had my locker knocked over during a thunderstone, and an engineer even spilled coffee on it while he was watching tv in my working space.

and yet, no sticky buttons and it works perfectly.

i think you just have bad luck.

As bizarre as it seems, it's pretty easy for me to believe that sony did curse me at this point.

              remedied!

I heated up a small screwdriver, and melted the plastic together where it was seperating, having pushed the disc from the bottom to force the upper layer of plastic back into place. Both work fine now.

Tomorrow I'll be opening up my PSP (again) to see what may be causing it.

Isn't this the same PSP you threw at a wall?

yes. but to be fair, it started tearing discs up long before that.

still, couldn't of improved the problem...

Then again it DID fix the sticky buttons.

This happened to my friend's GTA:LCS. I think it is because of how the games snap into the cases and have to be pulled out from them. Just be really careful when pulling them out.

                            Neither do I.

Which is troublesome cuz I want Metal Gear Portable Ops and the PS1 emulation sounds boffo. Maybe. It could just fall apart in my hands.

Thunderstones are notoriously bad for lockers.
