12:30AM: 25 New Games would be available this year for the Wii. System will be bundled with WiiSports (Baseball, Golf, Bowling and Tennis). Excite Truck will launch this year, Mario not till 2007. 30 Classic Games to be available at launch from $5-10. Wii can display Digital Photos. News Channel and Weather Channel will be in the system.

1:00AM: IGN and Gamespot start to comfirm these reports.

1:15AM: In a surprise announcement, Nintendo said that it wanted to make Wii a living room centerpiece by shipping the system with features outside of the videogame realm. Wil will include a photo channel, enabling users to display their digital photos through the console. It will also boast regularly updated news and weather channels. In addition, the system will ship with the Opera Web browser, enabling users to connect online.

MSX support on virtual console.

Virtual Console Prices are NES - 500 Yen, SNES - 800 YEN, N64 - 1000 YEN

I still don't believe it. I'll wait for more official word, but I guess that just gives me one more reason to hate Nintendo.

In one way I think it's funny making the Wiifanboys eat their words, but on the other hand it hurts my wallet.

What is hate-worthy about this? As for more official word, its coming right from a nintendo price conference you could watch online.

This is the first time Nintendo will launch a console over $200, and I guess I just bought into the speculation too much. Believe it or not, a LOT of fanboys feel betrayed right now. Just read the comments.

Well, they're retarded then. Nintendo said it wouldnt be above 250 dollars. they kept their promises. They never said it would be 200 dollars, or below that. various analysts did, but they dont know ****.

Those are just extra features for the people who may want them. I've never touched the photo function of the PSP, its useless to me, but I dont complain because it's there.

Despite the console being exactly $250, Nintendo didn't lie. They said the console WAS going to be around $250, and no higher. I think it's the fact that people believed in the hype and thought they wouldn't have to shell out one of their paychecks from [insert low paying job here]. But times are changing, technology's getting better and more expensive.

EDIT: (Damn Nintendo, oh well )

The virtual console lineup looks delicious now, with at least 30 games available around the launch quarter, I hope they'll be GOOD games though. I hope one could purchase VC cards online.
