Age of Empires II: Age of Kings

So I just got the game within the last few days as did Caciss.

We've been messing around with it here and there and I played a game with Garr (who showed no mercy).

I like it. Way different than SC (meaning I gotta go through the whole 'eh, I suck' phase again) but I like learning something this fun.

Does anyone else here own and play it? I believe Patryn said he has the game back at home.

Would anyone be interested in playing online sometime?

I have it, but I'm pretty busy with school. I used to play custom games online back in the day. I also learned to write custom AI scripts. I have an incomplete one somewhere around here...

Back in the day, I never had starcraft, and me and my buddy played this online over dialup all the time. Good times. I think I actually still have it burried somewhere.

Id always get my ass kicked.

I've got it around my house somewhere. But, like Starcraft, I never bothered to get good enough at multiplayer to actually be competitive about it.

As far as stability is concerned i'd say they're about the same.

We can play online multiplayer games by sharing IP addresses with the host.

I'm not sure how that compares to Bnet or your connection difficulties with that.

Oh yea, if you're thinking of picking up AoEII: Age of Kings, get the Gold Edition. I got mine at Target for $30. It included the expansion set (conquerors) and some 'limited, gold edition' features.

Yea, I prefer hosting games directly rather than through a network. It's rather easy to set up, too. Just create a game, have the other players enter your IP address and join once the game is found.

Caciss and I are still learning the ropes, so don't worry about being that far behind.

I might join you guys some time. I have it and play it alot. The expansion is pretty cool.

I just wish my computer could handle AOE 3.
