    contemplating another PSP

So you guys might've remembered I traded in my PSP for a DS and have been regretting it ever since. I'm not gonna re-trade in my DS cuz it's harder to trade in and I will prolly be interested in Mario Basketball, Secret of Mana, & Final Fantasy 3. However, my DS has mainly been collecting dust other than the once in a while I'll pick up Tetris DS and play that online a few times, and that's even getting boring even when I win.

So, Xeno and I have been playing LOTS of PSP lately because of Valkarie Profile, the new Tekken, both Mega Mans, and I still love Lumines and Hot Shots anytime, and I really want Syphon Filter & Daxter after renting them.

Since Tekken has game sharing for vs. play & we're both trying to get to the PSP w/ our DS's sitting there, I was looking for any deals for a core PSP. There is a deal for $160, but I feel nervous not having a replacement plan since the thing is pretty fragile. Anyone have any input?

    They're still fragile?

well, the "popping disks" thing has been BS ever since the US release, but when I did have one, I've had the nub fall off and also the control pad sink in on it too far. If I get the best buy relplacement plan, I can just trade it in as many times as I want for free.

Sony could make diamonds fragile if they start manufacturing them.

Best Buy replacement plan is the best thing ever. They don't care if anything is wrong with it. I had a PS2 since release, and payed only 199 for it because of it. I have the last version of the PS2 before it went slim, with network adapter, and only sacrificed going 3 weeks without it, twice.

The only reason i dont want a psp is because its so much like any console i have...the reason i got a DS is because of the stylus gameplay.

But yeah ive heard good things about bestbuy.

mine has never had any problems that i would consider it to be "broken". so i would say it depends on how much the plan costs.

A lack of gimicks isn't any reason to ignore a gaming system. If that were the case, nobody would be wanting the Xbox 360.

PSP has games I want, and if I ever can afford to spend $200 on it (I saw it at the dreaded 'Mart at that price), I will buy it.

Y'know, Sony said that the PSP has outsold the DS in America. I did a spit-take when I heard that.

Broken or not, don't you want money back when it goes down in price

                    C'mon, say you don't.

I'm also considering a PSP for Metal Gear: Portable Ops (it seems Metal Gear is the main reason I buy any console now) but I'm holding off because of the rampant redesign/PSP2 rumors.

Oh and it's expensive and fragile as hell.

I dunno. My top use for it has been an MP3 player. I feel like I've got a Game Gear.

Mora, it HAS outsold the DS in America. Basically the Japanese are fascinated by all the gimmick games the DS has, me, not so much.

Kire definitely get a replacement plan, even though the PSP isnt as fragile as most people make it out to be, it is still good to have a warranty on it just in case.

It has out-shipped the DS in america. more units have been shipped to stores. thats how sony does their numbers. they wont ever tell you how many units of their systems have actually sold, but they'll happily tell you how many they've shipped to retailers. Sega did the same thing.
