From the people who brought you Simon Says: The Game... make way for Obese Rain!

i.e. the people who made Indigo Prophecy.

Here's the first 9 minutes of "gameplay" for Heavy Rain. Take a shower. Get dressed. Drink orange juice.

Indigo Prophecy was an absolute abortion of an adventure game, and a failed attempt at doing something bold and new. Your actions did not have any direct relationship with what transpired throughout the course of the game (which is was what the creators said would be the case), and the last hour or so featured some absolutely ridiculous and juvenile mind**** Matrix style plot twists complete with flying fight choreography. Quantic Dreams Studios promises that the game is going to stay grounded in reality this time, whatever that means. Maybe they actually paid some real writers to pen the script this time around? Maybe they actually finished the script?

QTE Adventure: The Movie: The Game.

(sleight aside, it looks just like another adventure game)

This does look interesting, as I myself enjoyed Indigo Prophesy; unfortunately, I won't have a next-gen system to play it on by the time it comes out...

I loved Indigo Prophecy, so I will definitly be picking up this game. But hopefully it will fix Indigo Prophecy's many problems I had with it. It wasn't perfect.

I hope it's not PS3 exclusive, but IP wasn't so I doubt it will be. Very very intriguing though. I loved Indigo Prophecy, but Shadow of Destiny is still my favorite narrative game.

The Longest Journey will always be #1 in adventure games for me.

Although Omikron: The Nomad Soul (an underrated cyberpunk action/adventure game from this exact same company) is #2. That game had some broken gameplay elements but the storyline, atmosphere, and characters were amazing. It also featured David Bowie which makes it automatic win.

I also hear Heavy Rain is somehow CONNECTED to Omikron... which makes no sense because they take place in totally different times and possibly universes but Omikron's storyline revolved around transfering your soul and parallel universes so I don't doubt it.

Yeah, in the new EGM, it says Heavy Rain is coming to PS3 and 360. I too enjoyed Shadow of Destiny, but my favorite narrative game would easily have to be Shenmue, it was such a step forward in the genre.

Wasn't Shenmue 2 actually Shenmue 2-5, all crammed into one game? I thought I read that somewhere. Shenmue was supposed to have 7 or 8 games in the series or something like that.

No, it is just part 2. Not sure how many were supposed to come after.

                          Re: Heavy Rain

From what I remember from an overview of Shenmue (on T.V. or something, don't qoute me), he was planning on like 9 or 12 parts spanning over.

In one of my Game Informer articles, they report Yu Suzuki has not forgotten about Shemue, but it's on hold right now. He plans on finishing it at another time.

                          I forget stuff though.

                          ON Topic:

Might rent IP, it's always looked intresting to me.

I believe there were 5 parts to Shenmue; one in japan, the second in china, the third in canada, and the fourth and fifth were undetermined. There were rumors that Shenmue online was going to be the 3rd installment but that didn't get far.

Shenmue was massively ambitious. It holds the record as the most expensive in-house developed game (20+ MILLION US DOLLARS!). The game itself predates the sega saturn (you can even find sega saturn screenshots floating on the internet). I really wish someday Shenmue will be completed. Sega's on pretty good terms with Microsoft so I wouldn't be surprised if a 360 version pops up and a Wii version using the remote would be pretty rad considering Shenmue's control scheme. Unfortunately, Shenmue just wasn't profitable and Sega's primarily a business; 20 Mil just doesn't stomach well when it's not making anything.

On Shenmue 2 for X-Box has video of Shemue when it was on the Saturn, you can view it after beating the game once.

From what I saw, they had allthe way to Shemue 2 done on the Saturn version.
