When I first heard someone was making a Silent Hill movie my reaction was "Ugh! Why do they always have to ruin a good thing?" but instead it may just be the first truly good videogame-based film which can only open the door for more in the future. I gotta admit it looks pretty good. I'm still hesitant about how the whole thing coming together but at least the pieces are in place. The monsters look pretty decent, hell silent hill looks like it won't be cheesy or lame. The music sounds pretty good. Of course it's all going to come down to the final climactic battle with pyramid head. You just know that's going to make or break the movie.
What I like the most is that they seem to be in touch with the game and the fan base.The Cyclops having only one eye, needed to seek shelter from the harsh sun. The shadow cast by the spheres gave him temporary respite.

I didn't really like the part with a bunch of towns people running into a church. I definately want to see it, even though I haven't played the games.... my question is though, why did they replace the main character? It seems to follow the exact story of the first game, and I almost miss seeing thrillers that have a male lead in them. A bit off topic here, but has anyone noticed most of the horror movies that have come out lately have starred women in the leading role?
Though the cop is still as yummy in the movie as the game. I always liked her.
