I have not liked a final fantasy installment since 7, however, I give total respect to the series for not having some cheesy "teleport to town" features and instead had an "airship" which might seem out of place, but at least you get the feeling you have to travel.

FFX had no world map, just linear paths that took you from place to place. You couldn't ride the airship; you picked a place from a list, and it teleported you there. Didn't even get to see the airship fly."What if like...there was an exact copy of you somewhere, except they're the opposite gender, like you guys could literally have a freaky friday moment and nothing would change. As an 29year old gamer I would tend to agree with you. Since FF7, only FFX (Not X2) has appealed to me as a solidly enjoyable game. While I owned and played 8,9,and X2, each one seemed to have several major flaws.
8 was graphically impressive and had some interesting atmospheres, but the characters were unbelievable and the story lost track of itself after leaving the "Garden". I disliked 9 the most because it felt like I was playing an episode of Fraggle Rock. Also the rest of the world outside of the main continent was disappointing because it frankly seemed dead. X2 did have a lot to it in gameplay. But the who "pop princess" thing was a little bit hard to swallow.

Like the way the characters broke out in song 3 times an episode while living in underground cavern system and eating Doozer buildings and sometimes talking to a living trash heap?I disliked 9 the most because it felt like I was playing an episode of Fraggle Rock.
Yeah I didn't like it for that reason either.

Ya know? I loved all the Final Fantasies. Each one had it's own charm and style to it that made it appealing. I remember my first time playing eight. The water effects in that at the time were just amazing. Nine allowed you to fight with four players in your party (LOVED that!). Ten, well, ten was just amazing all the way around. I guess I started playing seven too late cuz I didn't find it too interesting. It was fun and all, but... meh. and yes I accept the fact that I will get gang beaten by the quadrillion FF7 fans in this universe for saying this...

For the most part I feel you. FF8's story did lose itself after leaving the "Garden, and FFX2 pop princess thing was hard to swallow. FF9 I don't really think is like Fraggle Rock, but I do have some issues with it. For anyone who has beat FF9 knows that Zidane is from another planet and was sent to destroy Gaia. Instead he fought along side with the people of Gaia to save it.Originally posted by Echo NomadAs an 29year old gamer I would tend to agree with you. But he had flat hair. All Sayians have spikey hair. I mean, where else are they going to put all that ki?Originally posted by JamosThis sounds awfully familiar *cough*DBZ*cough*. Don't forget he had a tail just like the Saiyans did.
Well, I personally think FF7 is the best, but I can understand why'd you think differently. The graphics are a travesty, but the plot is one of the most incredible storylines I've ever seen. You'd think someone would have made it a book by now...Originally posted by Sage of CreationI guess I started playing seven too late cuz I didn't find it too interesting. The original translation is lackluster compared to the inferior-in-a-different-way PC version's translation. Plus, it was a rushed release, and certain things weren't finished in it until the Japan-only Final Fantasy 7 International.Well it might've not been an original idea, but I liked it nonetheless. Though I can't seem to recall how he lost his memory in the first place. Personally I like FF9 the best out of the three PS1 FF games.Zidane is from SPOILERZ!"What if like...there was an exact copy of you somewhere, except they're the opposite gender, like you guys could literally have a freaky friday moment and nothing would change. "Cloud quaffed a potion restoring 100 hit points. 'Grrrrr!' exclaimed Hedgehog Pie at this turn of events. At the same time Tifa's active time battle bar filled up. 'Now it's my turn,' she said as she slamed her closed fist into her open palm. She proced to punch the Hedgehog Pie and then quickly followed with a swift kick dealing 28 points in damage. The Hedgehog Pie dissapared, defeated. Cloud celibrated this small victory by twirling his giantic sword, while Tifa streached suductivly. They both recived 6 experiance points for their trouble. They contiuned down the corrider when suddenly a Hedgehog Pie jumped out of the shadows at them!"You'd think someone would have made it a book by now...
