if no one ever got the idea for the dex drive? no doubt that started all these other peripherals. think about it. without 'em the pavillion might just be a place for the staff to talk about their games.

Re: how screwed would we have been...
RPG Maker 1 would have come out, but it would have failed. thus that would have been the only RPG Maker released here, keeping in mind that the PS2 file transfer devices were based on the dex drive, and probably would have never existed if it wasnt for the thing. Agetec never even would have considered Fighter Maker 2 for a US release. there would be no designer series in the US.
the dex drive is your god.

Re: how screwed would we have been...
if you're getting 3 you'd need at least an xport. the dex drive was only for the first one.
i kinda picture this place without it being nothing but valksas talking about his "legend of pants" game. *Shudders slightly* lol
and i kinda think by now RPG Maker is the sole reason that type of peripheral has even survived.Last edited by snake storm; 09-22-2005, 08:59 PM.the legends have returned...whenever i can finish these, lol.

Re: how screwed would we have been...
Valk is right. Without the dex drive none of this would have come about. All we'd have would be RPGM2K and it's siblings, and there probably wouldn't be a legal release of the translation, either.
I think another question, though, is if anyone have bothered with RPGM1 if it weren't for the invention of the memory card? It would've made the Dex Drive impossible if that device had never been made.
